Dr. Mary Charbonneau
Optometrist
Dr. Mary Charbonneau, O.D., has been practicing since 1999 and comes from a long line of eye care professionals, so you could say optometry is in her DNA. Born in St. Petersburg, FL, and a proud fifth-generation Floridian, Dr. Mary’s healthcare journey started at Wake Forest University, where she earned her degree in Psychology and Pre-Med. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL, and she was named Alumni of the Year in 2008.
More about Dr. Mary Charbonneau
But Dr. Mary didn’t stop there. She honed her skills during a residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Johnson City, TN, where she focused on caring for those who served. These days, she’s deeply involved in the field as an active member of the American Optometric Association. She’s also completed mission trips to Central and South America, where she’s used her skills as a Spanish-speaking eye care provider to give the gift of sight to those in need.
When she’s not serving patients, Dr. Mary is at home with her husband, Dr. Charles Charbonneau, and their four children. After spending several years stationed with the Navy in Spain, the Charbonneau family moved to Pensacola in 2011 and now call Lillian, Alabama home.
